Who writes our content

Articles are written and reviewed by the BuyMyFlightPass editorial team, based on our day-to-day work operating an independent travel-access marketplace. We are not an airline and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any airline.

How we research and verify

• General standby-travel mechanics are described from direct operational experience with companion travel.
• Airline-specific claims are kept general and qualified; where we reference an airline's programs, we point readers to the airline's own official website rather than restating internal policies we cannot verify.
• We do not publish precise internal airline rules (priority codes, benefit counts, eligibility fine print) as fact — these vary by airline and change without notice.
• Cost information about government taxes and fees is described in ranges, because exact amounts vary by route and country.

Our claim-safety rules

• We never state or imply that standby seats are guaranteed. All companion travel is subject to availability.
• We disclose per-flight government taxes and fees wherever pricing is discussed.
• Every article that discusses our service includes an independence disclosure.
• We discuss risks and limitations openly — including the ones that make a flight pass the wrong choice for some travelers.

How we update content

Articles show their published date and, when meaningfully revised, an updated date. We review popular articles periodically and update them when practices, costs, or our own processes change. Superseded advice is corrected rather than left in place.
